Mitch Albom Is Irritating

I don't know if any of you listen to Mitch Albom on 760-WJR out of Detroit, but he is getting really annoying. For several months he has been taking more and more time talking bad about Rush and Hannity (the Hannity stuff is okay b/c I don't like him either), but today he just plain offensive.

Mitch was boo-hooing the fact that not a single Republican house member voted for the stimulus package. He basically said that it was outrageous. He failed to mention that 11 Democrats voted against it. He also seems ignorant to the notion that Republicans might have voted against it because they think it is nothing more than a giant pork spending bill. He neglected to mention that the Congressional Budget Office has said that something like 70% of the money wouldn't be spent for two years.

Mitch then went on to call Republicans racists for a story that ran on the Drudge Report mentioning that Reagan's inauguration got more viewers than Obama's. He said that Republicans were grasping at straws. He said something to the effect of, "Republicans are better than liberals; whites are better than blacks; let's just say it cuz that's what it is."

Really Mitch? That's what it's about? I figured it might have had something to do with the fact that the media has been talking about how awesome Obama is. He's been on something like 25 Time Magazine covers in two years; he got 7-to-1 positive news stories, while McCain got 5-to-1 negative stories. So after two years of Obamania, and the countless stories about the "sea of people" at Obama's inauguration, maybe, just maybe, Drudge was pointing out that someone else did better. Maybe it was to say that Obama isn't the wonder you've made him out to be. It had absolutely nothing to do with the fact that Reagan was white and Obama is black.

Oh, and let's not forget the fact that Obama is proposing socialist programs. Why would he expect that Republicans would get on board with that? Why? Because he has become the one lacking common sense.

Albom hasn't been getting irritating, he IS irritating: I think of his show as "Weekdays with Moron." Albom is a dingleberry in the anus of the world-- DETROIT-- and he's simply both the voice of that audience...as well as a sports-writer, which is the lowest of the law in terms of "news" (i.e. prattling about which team or player is going to do what). He reminds me of a real-life "Ray Barone--" and in fact I'm sure that Mitch is Ray Romano's inspiration for the title-character of "Everybody Loves Raymond," i.e. a simpering, fawning whiner who's famous for talking big in a news-column.
I don't know why you think Mith was ever NON-annoying, but I'm sure that's a minority-view.
